As a teenager I learned to hunt upland birds and waterfowl hunting which I still enjoy today. I was introduced to Skeet shooting later in life and fell in love with the sport and became a competitive shooter taking a couple of state championships.
January 28, 1998 marked a change in my direction. I was checking into a hotel in Orlando around midnight and was held up at gun point. Being angry at myself for being careless, I resolved not be a victim again. I began to study many self-defense disciplines.
I received my KS CCHL license and instructor ratings from the NRA and the USCCA. I discovered I loved teaching others what I had to learn the hard way. I now have several ratings plus the USCCA Training Counselor rating. I look forward to passing along the life saving tools I've learned.

I am a certified Crisis Prevention Institute Trainer in verbal and physical de-escalation skills for personal and workplace environments . In addition to being a Trauma-Informed Instructor, I can teach skills to help others to overcome their fears and enjoy firearms for sport and recreation.
